The result of an experiment attempting to recreate Wolverine's genome to replicate his powers, Laura, born from an embryo injected by Dr. Sarah Kinney, is raised by the secret organization Facility in an attempt to create a living weapon. After various trials and with the sacrifice of her mother, Laura manages to escape and, after some time, joins the X-Men.
